We currently offer following programs for our participants on autism spectrum:
1:1 Book Read – A high school volunteer holds one on one zoom/google meet based book read session and makes it a fun interactive session with goal of developing social skills and language. Timings and duration are decided by the participant and volunteer based on availability. The Volunteers are rotated every 4-6 weeks so the participant gets exposed to different interactions.
Art Session – A group of High school volunteers conduct a fun and interactive zoom-based session to build various Art activities – such drawing, origami and coloring. The Art classes are 30 minutes and are usually on Wednesday’s at 6 pm
Dance Classes – A fun zoom-based session where a dance trained High School volunteer does a practice conversation round, a warm up and a fun choreography to get everyone moving and engaged. The steps are super simple and classes are full of energy. The dance sessions are 30 minutes.
A fun zoom based session where our highly trained musician volunteer does a practice conversation round, introduces our participants key concepts of music and have them practice a song during a 8 week music session. Each session is 35 minutes.
Introduction to Computer Programming using scratch – A high school volunteer holds a week-long online class to introduce our participants to basics of computer programming using scratch. Aside from daily classes during the week, the participants work on a project to build a simple game or two to practice the skills learned during the class. These classes are usually held during summer break.
In addition to these offerings, we are constantly evaluating new fun and exciting programs for our participants.
