Project YASH Launched To Serve the Kids on Autism Spectrum
Project YASH was founded in May of 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic–the product of teenage perspective, motivation, and personal experience. We five co-founders have grown up together in families and communities of open dialogue and overwhelming support around special needs. It became clear to us, however, that quarantine restrictions in 2020 were limiting the already low number of activities and social venues for special needs children.
Project YASH completes 1000 hours of Community serivce hours within six months of launching
Project YASH was launched with five volunteers and abour 5 special needs participants. Within six months of launching the book read program, we grew to about 50 volunteers strong and about 50 plus participants. Our dedicated volunteers are making a difference in the community at the time of need.
Project YASH sets up Social Media Team to Spread our Mission.
One of the biggest struggles for us as we initiated Project YASH was expansion—how would we spark interest? Where were we supposed to look? How should we divide up the responsibility? Word of mouth was not generating enough of an influx, so we turned to other methods, most notably, social media.
